Ten Travellers Choice members recently enjoyed an exclusive networking event on Western Australia’s Rottnest Island/Wadjemup courtesy of Journey Beyond.
The agents travelled to the protected nature reserve - which sits just offshore from Perth and is home to the iconic quokka - on the Rottnest Express ferry, which takes just 30 minutes from Fremantle (or 90 minutes from Perth).
Upon arrival, Journey Beyond’s Fiona Stewart provided an update on Outback Spirit Tours – the company's small group luxury outback tours operation – and its legendary Australian rail journeys, including The Ghan and Indian Pacific.
Monique Dowling, Sales Manager for The Samphire Rottnest, a 64-room resort overlooking Thomson Bay, then provided a quick room inspection before the group settled in for Italian-style lunch at nearby Isola Bar & Restaurant.
Travellers Choice Business Development Manager Tim Bolton says the day trip provided the perfect opportunity to bring agents up to speed with Journey Beyond's ever-expanding portfolio of Australian products.
"It was also a priceless day of networking for our WA members, who relish any opportunity to get together," says Bolton, "and a chance to showcase just how much Rottnest Island itself has evolved as a tourism destination. It might sit just off the coast, but some agents hadn't been across for many years.
"The only thing we forgot to do was to get the regulation selfie with a quokka!"
